Palworld 1.0 Full Release Launches July 10 With New Content and Price Increase

Palworld, the genre-blending survival game that took the gaming world by storm in early 2024, will finally leave early access with its 1.0 full release on July 10.

Developer Pocketpair announced the release date alongside details of new content coming in the 1.0 update, including a new final region called the Celestial Expanse, over 50 new Pals, and the game's long-awaited endgame boss rush mode.

"It's been an incredible journey since our early access launch on January 19, 2024," the studio said in a Steam blog post. "We sold over 25 million copies in the first year alone, and the support from our community has been overwhelming. Version 1.0 is our love letter to everyone who believed in this game."

The 1.0 update will also introduce a fully realized story campaign with cutscenes and voiced characters, replacing the minimal narrative that existed during early access. The Celestial Expanse area is described as a floating continent above the existing map, accessible only after players have captured at least one of each elemental type of Pal.

Alongside the 1.0 launch, Pocketpair is increasing the game's price from $29.99 to $39.99 on all platforms. The studio said the increase reflects the substantially larger scope of the finished game compared to the early access version.

Existing players who purchased Palworld during early access will receive the 1.0 update at no additional cost, along with exclusive cosmetic items as a thank-you for early support.

Console players on Xbox and PlayStation will also receive the 1.0 update simultaneously with PC, marking the first time all platforms are on the same version. The game has been particularly popular on Xbox Game Pass, where it remains available as part of the subscription.
